Recently completed project in a three bedroom co-op in the East Village, NYC. Client asked Be Colouring LLC to enlarge the doorway. After removing the metal buck we demoed the opening on all three sides. For our first pass we attached wire mesh and applied a liberal amount of Structo-Lite, held in place by 1x6s. The next day we filled in gaps with a second round of Structo-Lite.
After the Structo-Lite set overnight we came back with a mixture of Plaster of Paris with 90 Minute Easy Sand for one coat adding our corner beads along the way. One additional coat of 45 minute Easy Sand and one coat of USG Joint Compound to polish. Four days from start to finish.
